At two sites steeped in railway history – the National Railway Museum in York and Locomotion in County Durham – you will find the world’s largest railway collection.

The National Collection holds over two million objects that tell the story of more than 200 years of railways. This vast and diverse archive includes Stephenson’s iconic Rocket, the record-breaking Mallard, the world’s finest collection of royal carriages and the only Bullet Train outside Japan.
